Author Haabiba Rothenberg-Whitney and illustrator Dawn Rossi visited the Community Music School of Springfield last week to offer a story time book reading and participate in an art activity. The activity is based on a page from the children’s picture book Tell Me About Your Happy Place: A Shy Giraffe Story. In the story, the Shy Giraffe uses her imagination to visit safe, happy places. One place she imagines is a ladybug playground! Pre-schoolers enjoyed crafting their own ladybugs, drawing their own happy places under the ladybug’s peek-a-boo wings.
